Keeping the right focus

One of the keys to running successfully is to control the "hormones", and the emotions that come along.
The same is true of life. Check out this quote from Stephen Covey from his book: "The 8th Habit".
"… anytime your emotional life is a function of someone else’s weaknesses, you disempower yourself and empower those weaknesses to continue to mess your life up."

Interesting quote... my first thought in response is then that we need to set boundaries so that we do not allow the weaknesses of others to unduly influence us? When does empathy become disempowerment? Hmmm... :)
